Navarrate-Cazales (2015) describe y analiza el desarrollo de la profesionalización de la docencia. Refiere que la Escuela Normal Superior se creó entre 1924 y 1928, al interior de la Universidad Nacional de México y fue hasta 1934 que se se- paró de la Universidad. Esta institución tenía como propósito formar profesores universitarios de materias especiales para escuelas secundarias, normales y profesionales y directores de escuela. Así fue como inició la profesionalización del profesor de secundaria, que lo habilitaba para ejercer la profesión de enseñante en una materia específica. Otra reforma que marcó al magisterio fue la de 1984. Con base a ella, se elevó la Normal Básica a Licenciatura, estable- ciendo el bachillerato como requisito para ingresar. Esta re- forma implementó un plan de estudios, donde se incluyó la propuesta de formar profesores-investigadores; estableciendo así a las escuelas normales como instituciones de educación superior (Navarrete-Cazales, 2015). Reforma que no fue acep- tada de la manera más positiva por las entidades normalistas, pues los agentes de estas instituciones veían a la investigación como tarea ajena a su formación docente, pues no se habían formado en el área investigativa. Figueroa menciona que al no haber un currículo específico para los formadores de docentes, ni personal capacitado, se tiene que echar mano de los docen- tes formados desde su experiencia, o por haber realizado estu- dios de posgrado, supone contar con los elementos necesarios para guíar la formación (Figueroa, 2000, pág. 135).
