La pedagogía de la memoria como escenario para la construcción de ciudadanías críticas La educación como proceso social, político y cultural y, por lo tanto, como espacio de construcción de relaciones sociales y de construcción del conocimiento no es ajena a los procesos de consolidación del poder hegemónico a través de la colo- nización del conocimiento, de la imposición de necesidades de aprendizaje homogeneizadas y de un currículo violento; de esta forma, la educación ha servido como mecanismo para la socialización de sujetos que funcionen para el proyecto de Es- tado. En este contexto, podemos decir que la educación y la ciu- dadanía son conceptos dialécticos. Como ya se mencionó la ciudadanía es una práctica histórica (Giroux, 2001, p. 26) di- námica y en constante construcción, relacionada con el poder y atravesada por las subjetividades y el contexto histórico de quienes la ejercen. En esta relación el Estado juega un papel regulatorio en la formación de la ciudadanía para el proyecto que quiere construir, en el ejercicio ciudadano se reconocen derechos y deberes, materializados en la representatividad, en el voto, en las elecciones, entre otros, que construyen y limitan al ciudadano pues solo son aceptadas ciertas formas de ejercer la ciudadanía, con cierto tipo de organización, prácticas, dis- cursos y proyectos políticos que no vulnere al Estado hegemó- nico (Cardona, 2014, p.21).
