Esta última dimensión, que interesa particularmente en esta propuesta, se relaciona con formar personas capaces de responder a preguntas sobre su realidad y resolver conflictos individuales y colectivos basados en el respeto a los derechos humanos, a la diversidad y a la inclusión de todas las personas. Este ejercicio va acompañado indudablemente de una herencia histórica, pues el pasado y los procesos por los que hemos atravesado como grupo social tiene una injerencia directa en el imaginario de nuestra organización y participación política y, en general, de todos los aspectos de nuestra vida en conjunto. Es así, que podemos hablar de la ciudadanía como construc- ción histórica, como menciona Traveso [...]lejos de ser dos continentes separados tajantemente, pasa- do y futuro están ligados por una relación dinámica, creadora. Así como el presente otorga un sentido al pasado, este provee a los actores de la historia un inmenso reservorio de recuer- dos y experiencias sin los cuales no podrían trazar el futuro, formular sus expectativas, alimentar sus utopías (2012, p. 318). Por ello, ciudadanía y conciencia histórica son elementos inseparables ya que la posibilidad de tener una postura crítica ante los problemas socialmente relevantes solo se construye en la relación consciente del tiempo histórico y sus tres dimen- siones (presente, pasado, futuro) y la capacidad de decidir y accionar en la realidad social cotidiana. En este sentido, se entiende a la educación como escenario de socialización donde la construcción de conocimiento debe orientarse a la formación de una ciudadanía creativa, crítica y 117
