junta en la casa de Magallón y, por último, a las nueve de la noche, se volvieron a reunir en la casa de Magallón. Esto muestra la magnitud de la conspiración: eran varios los implicados, al respecto tómese en cuenta que los nombres que salieron a la luz pública son de quienes estaban al frente de di- cha planeación, pero hay que considerar también a las fuerzas de que éstos disponían, en especial los militares; aunque no descartamos que, probablemente, hubiera habido otros civiles involucrados. Esto por una parte, por otra, está el hecho de que se reunieran en varias casas. Ello nos habla de que sus dueños estaban firmemente comprometidos, pues, de otro modo, di- fícilmente hubieran prestado sus casas, para que en ellas se efectuaran reuniones de conspiración en contra del gobierno. Por su parte, Licastro seguía tomando nota de lo que pa- saba en la ciudad. «Entre las cinco y seis de la tarde llegaron seiscientos hombres de la División del Norte para relevar la Tercera Brigada del Gral. Elizondo; fueron desarmados en sus cuarteles»81. Cuando llegaron los villistas --dice Licastro-- se ocuparon en correr por las calles en busca de los carrancistas, que se evaporaron --continúa-- «como por encanto», acompa- ñados de la plebe. Hicieron muchos muertos, principalmen- te por el rumbo de la Merced, en las casas de asignación82.
