las respuestas que se presentan en cada una de estas pregun- tas son producto del análisis que se realiza a partir de la expli- cación dada por Timeo; al final de cada apartado se incluye un comentario, justificando dicho texto. ¿Qué hacían los filósofos? Los filósofos griegos alrededor del siglo 600 a. C., se plantea- ron preguntas interesantes acerca del origen de las cosas y del universo, empezaron a cuestionar su entorno para explicar el universo, pasaron de la mitología a las respuestas racionales. Tales de Mileto (624 - 545 a. C.) afirmó que el origen de la natu- raleza estaba en el agua, continuó su discípulo Anaximandro (610 - 546 a. C.) quien aseguró que el principio estaba en el arjé, (lo indefinido, si límite), después Anaxímenes (590 - 525 a. C.), discípulo de Anaximandro, sostuvo que el principio de las co- sas estaba en el aire. Más tarde se presentó Heráclito (540-480 a. C.) con los opuestos (bien y mal; justo e injusto, etc.), él ase- veró que todo se encuentra en movimiento y que es imposible que algo se repita, le siguió Pitágoras (570-490 a. C.) con los números que le daban orden al mundo. Cada uno de ellos dio el paso, de alguna manera, a la biología, física, matemáticas y a otras áreas del conocimiento. El texto antes citado lo podemos tener como ejemplo para iniciar explicando el origen de algunos elementos de la naturaleza, reto- mando las aportaciones que hicieron algunos 昀椀lósofos griegos y sus contribuciones. Ésta es una forma acertada de mostrar cómo algunos hombres se han hecho preguntas acerca del mundo que los rodeada, rompiendo paradigmas de su tiempo y dándole prioridad a su deseo de saber o conocer el origen de las cosas. Nos podemos dar cuenta que estos 昀椀lósofos han puesto las bases de algunas áreas del conocimiento. 12
