Our design, eme r gen c y e xits and doors all meet the stringent requirements of the Lévis Fire Marshal. Our sta f f h a v e all been trained to handle eme r gen c y situations. Although the chance of fire occurring is minimal, just in case . . . please ta k e a f e w m o ments to read the foll o wing: BE PRE P ARED: Read the detailed instructions from the Fire Marshal on the back of your room doo r . Locate the fire e xit nearest to your room. Locate the nearest fire e xtinguishers and fire alarms. A lw ays kn o w where your room k e y is. IF THE FIRE ALARM SOUNDS OR Y OU SMELL SMOKE: Stay calm. Do not panic. T ouch the door to your room. If it is hot do not open it. If the door feels normal, open it and check the hal lw a y . If the alarm has not yet sounded, b ut you smell smo k e, sound the alarm. If there is no smo k e in the hal lw a y , le a v e your room. T a k e your room k e y with you. Close the door behind you and go to the nearest eme r gen c y e xit. If there is smo k e in the stairwell, go to the opposite end of the hal lw ay or re - turn to your room. A n y guests with disabilities should call the desk clerk for assistance. IF Y OU H A VE T O S T A Y IN Y OUR R OOM: Fill the bathtub with cold w ate r . Soak sheets and t o wels and put them around the base of the doo r . Call the switchboard, tell them your room number, and e xplain that you are staying in your room because of smo k e in the hal lw ay or stairwell. If smo k e b e gins to enter your room, crouch d o wn beneath the l e v el of smo k e, and c ov er your nose and mouth with a wet cloth. T O PREVENT FIRES: Do not smo k e in bed. Be sure to e xtinguish all ci g arettes and ci g ars. Do not use a n y cooking or heating appliances other than those supplied by the hotel.
