It Takes Heart Capital Campaign 2022 Highlights Monies Raised The It Takes Heart Capital Campaign raised a total of $715,220 towards the funding of HSHPE’s new Animal Care and Community Education Centre in 2022. A total of 297 gifts: 2 gifts of $100,000 and more, 4 gifts of $50,000, 5 gifts of $25,000, 7 gifts of $10,000, 6 gifts of $5,000, 16 gifts of $1,000, 11 gifts of $500 and 246 gifts under $500. Notable Gifts The Campaign was thrilled to welcome notable gifts from the following donors: One Anonymous Donor, Tony Martin & Ralph Johnston, Wayne & Wendy Sheppard, Jeff Allin & Lola Reid-Allin, Lloyd & Wendy McCoy, Tim Bannon, Peter & Linda Kempenaar, Bardon Supplies Ltd., Charlotte Kuntze, Al & Tracey Bunnett, McDougall Insurance & Financial, City of Belleville, Ontario Trillium Foundation, City of Quinte West, Ontario Truss & Wall Ltd., David Clegg, TaskForce Engineering Inc., Free Flow Petroleum, Tasmont Plumbing, and West City Honda. Launch of Last Mile Campaign In December, Capital Campaign Committee members Greg Sudds, Peter Malone, Wendy & Lloyd McCoy, Kelly McCaw, Marlene Letourneau and Leslie Roseblade launched the Last Mile Campaign to raise $1 million to achieve our goal of $6 million. The first $100,000 raised was matched, thanks to a generous anonymous donor. Celebrity Support Actor, comedian and Belleville native Lauren Ash joined our Capital Campaign efforts in December, releasing a video filmed at her home in Los Angeles calling upon animal lovers to support her hometown animal shelter’s Last Mile Campaign. A devoted dog and cat “mom” and pet adoption advocate, Lauren is best known for her role as Dina in the NBC sitcom Superstore. Lauren was born and raised in Belleville and was a visitor to the HSHPE’s shelter on Avonlough Road with her mother. 14
