Galtaji Temple (Monkey Temple) Diwan Rao Kriparam, a courtier at the court of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, constructed the Galta Ji Temple. The 18th century saw the construction of the temple complex. The location was of the utmost importance to the Vaishavites Ramanandis even before the temple was established. In their additions to the history of Galta Ji, several historians have noted that many yogis and sadhus (saints) resided here before the 16th Century, at the location where the Galta Ji Temple now stands. The mystical and spiritual abilities of a Ramanandi Sadhu by the name of Krishnadas Payo Hari drove the yogis and saints away. ENTRY FEE AND TIMINGS The temple is open all days of the year between 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Entry is free for all irrespective of nationality or faith
