SOUK AREA /1 We firmly believe that there is the possibility of tracing elements in the urban fabric. These elements outline potential but not necessarily material identities. These elements provide the design with non- physical reference boundaries and internal dematerialization links. Therefore, when trying to find a reasonable architectural solution, the investigation of the site based on the existing physical boundaries and historical trajectory has become a very important reference value that affects the final form of the design and the possibility of architectural Definition of the aligments composition. Main spine Secondary spine composing the spine 1.enhance the alignments and separation 2.composing the central space adjust the inner relation of space enhancing the monumentality of boundary wall
SOUK AREA /2 COMPOSITION ALIGNMENTS FORM TRIALS The primary focus of our alignments involves a careful consideration of both historical significance and the surrounding environment. In terms of historical context, our project is situated within the same area as the traditional Qaisariah Sebahi Bazaar, which corresponds to the main street bazaar and preserves its intangible geometric connection
GENERAL CONCEPT CONTEMPORARY INDUSTRIAL AND FURNITURE DESIGN ORIGINATED IN MONZA, THE BIENNALE DI MONZA STARTED TO HOLD EXHIBITION RELATED TO IT. HISTORICALLY THE BIENNALE DI MONZA WAS TRANSFORMED INTO THE TRIENNALE DI MILANO AND MONZA LOST ITS FUNCTION OF HOLDING THIS EVENT. THEREFORE, OUR CONCEPT IS TO EXPOSE THIS PART OF THE HISTORY OF MONZA TO THE PUBLIC, TO BRING IT BACK TO THE ROOTS OF OUR PROJECT. WE LOOK AT THE PARK AS AN EXHIBITION VENUE RELATED TO THE HISTORY OF INDUSTRIAL AND FURNITURE DE- SIGN. OUR INTENTION IS TO REALISE THE IDEA OF THE ART SITE. TO CREATE A NEW ITINERARY INSIDE THE PARK OF MONZA, A PATH THAT WOULD CONNECT THE IMPORTANT CULTURAL SPOTS AND BUILDINGS IN THE PARK, ALONG WHICH THE SCULPTURAL OB- JECTS AND EXPONATS WILL BE LOCATED. SO, ONE, WHILE TAKING A ROUTE ALONG THIS PATH, WOULD ENJOY THE ARTISTIC OBJECTS AND FIND HIMSELF IN - AN OPEN AIR MUSEUM. CASCINA SAN FEDELE WILL BE PLAYING A CEN- TRAL ROLE AS AN EXPOSITION AND AN EDUCA- TIONAL SPOT, CONCENTRATED ON THE HISTORY OF DESIGN AND STRICTLY RELATED TO THE LICEO AR- TISTICO STATLE DI MONZA, WHICH IS LOCATED IN VILLA REALE THERE THE CLASSROOMS AND EDUCA- TIONAL SPACES WILL BE PROVIDED SPECIALLY FOR USE OF THE LICEO ARTISTICO, AS WELL AS SOME EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL SPOTS, SUCH AS PUB- LIC LIBRARY, WORKSHOPS AND EXHIBITION SPACES, WILL BE AVAILABLE for THE PUBLIC
PHILOSOPHY The essence of our design is to explore the stylistic potential of Nubian vernacular archi- tecture. Its language resembles the last living legacy of a truly living egyptian identity with its ancient, yet still surviving, use of mud. This leg- acy lives on through the materiality of its archi- tecture and how it is communicated through the medium of the building. What truly de昀椀nes the survival of this legacy is not necessarily the form but the texture and materiality that has been passed on generation and after gen- eration. Architecture remains timeless not just through visual memory, but also architectural tactility. The timelessness that characterized ancient egyptian architecture can be found in the stoic and composed nature of Earthern archi- tecture. Our design will utilize the building and aesthtetic potential of earthern architecture to come up with an empowered architectural “identity” that can truly be in a global dialogue with contemporary trends of architecture. INSPIRATION The illustration and aesthetic of this proj- ect is inspired by Hus- sein Bicar’s paintings on Nubian culture and Nubian people. His art provided the artistic palette on which our architectural render- ings were based on. The formal identity of the project is inspired by how the Nubians embodied a vernac- ular approach to con- struction and connect- ing the man-made environment to the natural environment.
