Classes - Y Yoga Yoga for teens ages 13-19 Instructor: Saray Fitzhenry Community Center Saturdays 9:15-10:15am Starting Aug 1st Yoga for Teens, is a bridge for Social Emotional Learning that can help teens improve coping with stress, anxiety, as well as supports the mind-body connection. Synchronizing breath and movement on the mat helps cultivate a deeper awareness of one’s internal state. Giving your teen time to step back, and see themselves and their bodies better in the context of a safe space. Build strength, grow stamina and develop 昀氀exibility. Whether this is the beginning of your yoga journey or you’re a more advanced student. Classes - G Gymnastics Community Mountain Gym communitymountaingym.com Beginning Gymnastics 5-8 year olds Mondays 3-3:45pm - Community Center September 11,18,25 October 2,9,16,23,30 A 45-minute gymnastics class that will work on the foundations of gymnastics techniques. In this class children will work on building strength to properly move into and out of gymnastics poses. Classes - Skating & Biking Skateboarding Skate Dogs 4-14 year olds skatedogs.com Saturdays 9-10:30am - September 16,23,30 October 7,14,21,28 Whether you are just learning or ready for advanced tricks, this class is right for you! Make new friends, advance your skills, and most importantly have fun learning with hands on instructors! Skateboards and pads included. Please bring your own helmet (skate or bike helmet is okay). This program is designed for skaters of all levels. Call Erik with any questions: (562) 565-4758. Space is limited to 10 students and is on a 昀椀rst come 昀椀rst serve basis. No refunds will be available. Bike Maintenance Scan to Register Instructor: Linda Williams Oct 14th 4-6pm Outdoor Classroom-Skypark Worried about contaminated brakes or rotors? Don’t fret! We’ve got you covered with e昀昀ective solutions and preventive measures to keep your brakes in top-notch condition. But that’s not all! Delve into the intricate world of derailleurs and unravel their mysteries. Understand the purpose and functionality of High, Low, B-tension screws, and the barrel adjuster. Troubleshoot common issues that often cause poor shifting, and gain the con昀椀dence to tackle them head-on. As a bonus, we’ll also demonstrate the proper use of Stans Darts and Bacon strips, along with C02, to e昀케ciently handle pesky tire punctures on the go. We'll meet for a check in and free co昀昀ee and snacks. After a loop around the city, we'll return to where we started for a yummy lunch at the park. Scotts Valley Cycle Sport will provide quick bike safety checks before the ride as well as a limited number of e-bikes participants can demo for the ride.
