El trabajo de campo, como ejercicio inherente a la historia oral, ha permitido observar de cerca y participativamente la realidad que se cuestiona, investiga y documenta. Además de poder ser partícipes de las dinámicas socioculturales y políti- cas que en el aula se ven en lo abstracto. Podemos decir que trabajar con estas herramientas conlleva a un camino para la problematización y cuestionamiento de la realidad en la que participan cotidianamente tanto el estudiantado como sus su- jetos de estudio y de la construcción del conocimiento y de las versiones oficiales de la historia. Como ya se comentó, la utilización de la historia oral en la educación pone en contacto directo al estudiantado con las fuentes e incluso con su creación y propician la búsqueda y tratamiento de información, además de que les permiten aden- trarse en la historia personal y familiar y hacer relaciones con la historia de su comunidad, región, estado y país. Por ello, podemos decir que “fomentan un estudio vivo de la historia que ayude en la construcción de la conciencia histórica” (Pagès y Santisteban, 2010, p. 301). Una de las fuentes que en el aula de clases normalista les resulta más atractiva, son los testimonios orales, pues, como ellos/as mismos/as mencionan, se pueden sentir más cercanos/ as a los sentimientos, expresiones y emociones que enmar- can el discurso de los actores involucrados. El ejercicio con este tipo de fuentes ha abarcado diversos temas de la Historia Reciente como el movimiento estudiantil de 1968 en México, donde se pudieron comparar el discurso de algunos líderes es- tudiantiles y la postura de las autoridades y del representante del ejecutivo federal.
