The largest stepwell in the whole globe, it is tastefully constructed to draw tourists. It was created by the King of Chanda Baori in the ninth century and is among the best-kept picnic sites within a 100-km radius of Jaipur. The name "Bawri," which means "stepwell," is an original invention of the architects. The steps down to the water in the well are 3500 in number and are clearly drawn.
