By Train Train travel is the most common mode of transportation between Delhi and Agra. If you take the appropriate trains— the fastest of which travels from city to city in just two hours— you can reach the Taj Mahal in a single day from Delhi. Although occasional trains to Agra also leave from Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station (NZM), which is roughly 20 minutes south of NDLS, Delhi's primary railway station is New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS), close to Paharganj. Agra Cantonment (AGC), Agra's primary train station, is about 20 minutes' drive from the Taj Mahal. Use one of the pre-paid taxi or rickshaw kiosks to pay a predetermined fare once you leave the train station.
