Messmer Hosts Inaugural 2024 Open House: A Taste of Messmer Messmer High School proudly held its 昀椀rst Open House: A Taste of Messmer, showcasing its nearly 100-year legacy. The event was broadcast on social media, in addition, people heard Messmer students talk about the event via ads on V100.7 and Jammin’ 98.3. As a result, the event drew over 450-current and prospective students, families, and alumni to explore Messmer’s offerings, with Student Ambassadors guiding personalized tours. A lively vendor area featured businesses owned by Messmer alumni and organizations offering community resources. The food trucks along Capitol Drive added 昀氀avor, offering local favorites. One of the event’s highlights was the “Ol-Skool” vs. “Nu-Skool” alumni basketball game, organized by Walter Cullin (‘05), Vic Sloan (‘05), and Messmer’s boys basketball coach, Ben Hailey. The “Nu-Skool” team claimed victory, leaving the “Ol-Skool” team playfully asking, “Where’s the oxygen?” Vic commented, “Congratulations on another successful event. This was a good look for Messmer.” Walt added, “The engagement was crazy! The atmosphere was electric! This was beautiful!” With music provided by Jammin’ 98.3 the event celebrated Messmer’s strong community connections and commitment to student success. Messmer’s Annual Golf Outing Recap Messmer’s annual golf outing, sponsored by CG Schmidt and initiated by a group of dedicated alumni over twenty years ago, took place on June 10th at New Berlin Hills. The course was 昀椀lled to capacity, and we were once again blessed with beautiful weather. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our generous sponsors and those who donated items for our raf昀氀e and auction. This year, we featured several unique items crafted by students from our carpentry class. 13
