Determining the student's progress will center around the Educational Plan (Standards). The school will be able to utilize this information to report the effectiveness of our academic program to stakeholders, like WASC, authorizers, and our School Board. Each Learning Period, your teacher will assign specific lessons, assignments, and activities your student will complete for the Learning Period. At your monthly Learning Period meetings, families will have the opportunity to share all the exciting learning that occurred during the month. Teachers will diligently review the assignments and activities completed by your child to ensure they are actively engaged in learning and making strides towards mastering educational standards. This review process allows us to match your child's achievements to their personalized Educational Plan and reflect on the student’s progress and growth. By reviewing these together, we gain valuable insight into your child's learning journey and can assess their mastery of educational standards. The review of the body of work and information shared by your child and you during Learning Period meetings is instrumental as your Teacher determines if your child is receiving the necessary support and resources to thrive academically. Mastery can be verified through a combination of the following: Standards Mastery Star 360 Monthly meetings: Work Samples (1 per subject should be reviewed), Photos, Conversations/Discussions, etc. Unit Reviews; Unit Assessments Written Evaluations; Oral Evaluations or Presentations Thematic projects Online program course evaluations (i.e. Time for Learning, etc.) Quizzes Math and Reading Diagnostic Assessments If you have any questions or need support, please contact your teacher
