The Athirappilly-Thumpoormuzhi- Vazhachal DMC is organising a very different 'Mazha Yatra' (rain trip) for nature lovers. The special herbal coffee will provide a refreshing feel to the tourists. The 'Mazha Yatra' aims to turn Athirappilly into a major monsoon tourism spot in Kerala. The trip will connect Thumpoormuzhi-Athirappilly-vazhachal, Charpa waterfalls, and Sholayar, Peringalkuthu dams. Apart from enjoying the beauty of waterfalls in the monsoon season, the visitors will get to see the rain forests and the river that is full to brim. Those participating in the Mazha Yatra will get accommodation facility in major hotels in Athirappilly and Chalakkudy with a concession of 30 to 50 per cent. They will also get umbrellas, bags, and books for free, said District Tourism Promotion Council Executive Officer Manesh Sebastian.
